KELPIE AND THE SWAN
Oh, sometimes the world seems gray with despair
When autumn leaves are falling and cold fills the air
But through winter’s ice, small seedlings push through.
This kind of magic can happen to you
When the kelpie comes galloping into the night
And as the moon rises, the swan takes to flight.
Dream! Dare to have visions!
Believe, you are the one
Whose dreams can change our tomorrows.
By the power of the kelpie, the grace of the swan.
There are poets and explorers, all aiming high
With sailors and pilots, the limit’s the sky.
Artists and athletes and architects, too
They follow their dreams, so how about you?
When the kelpie comes galloping into the night
And as the moon rises, the swan takes to flight.
Dream! Dare to have visions!
Believe, you are the one
Whose dreams can change our tomorrows.
By the power of the kelpie, the grace of the swan.
Where angels fear to travel then fools may rush in.
Whatever you can do or dream, then begin!
Commit to the journey, with each step you take
There’s genius and magic, power and grace.
When the kelpie comes galloping into the night
And as the moon rises, the swan takes to flight.
Dream! Dare to have visions!
Believe, you are the one
Whose dreams can change our tomorrows.
By the power of the kelpie, the grace of the swan.

Two well known creatures in Scotland give this song its title:
The Kelpie, the legendary water horse of Celtic folklore that lives in the water or on the land. Powerful beyond compare, when carefully harnessed, the Kelpie can work for humans. But reckless unbridled use of the Kelpie's power can lead to destruction and heartbreak.
The Swan, swimming with long curving necks and snow white feathers reflecting in every pond, loch and river around Scotland, the swan is the quintessential image of grace.
Beside the motorway near Grangemouth Scotland two giant Kelpie sculptures emerge from the landscape welcoming visitors to Central Scotland. On a hillside not far away at the convergence of the Union and the Forth and Clyde Canal the Falkirk Wheel powerfully and gracefully lifts boats from one canal to the other. The canals, the kelpies and the wheel came about through the collaboration of dreamers, artists, environmentalists, industrialists and engineers. Their stories are the inspiration for this song.
