THE JOURNEY
INSPIRATION
“In November 2009, the Scottish International Storytelling Festival presented a programme of stories, songs and music about and gathered by Scottish missionaries of the 19th and early 20th Centuries. We were treated to a multi-cultural feast, not tales of evangelical conquest but the genuine meetings of open-minded and open-hearted people across cultures. Where songs and stories were exchanged friendships grew. The programme struck a chord with many. We need more stories like these. We understand and can do friendship. We want to be inspired to do more.”

BEGINNINGS
From this Bridges of Friendship was born. Our vision is to use our songs and stories, gifts, talents and abilities to meet people and build enduring bridges of friendship between individuals, communities, religions and cultures be they across the street or around the world.
The simple, ordinary elements of song and story carry and communicate identity, faith, culture and values. They hold and preserve our culture, our past and are our starting point for engaging the future and shaping what we become. Bridges of Friendship is about songs and stories and music and people coming together to share these things.

WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW
We've undertaken a wide range of concerts, workshops, jam sessions, training events, informal gatherings and recording on both sides of the Atlantic.
Covid lockdown put a halt to many things for more than 2 years but it was an opportunity to focus on the sailboat refit. As things have been reopening we look forward to completing this work and setting sail for new places,
